The three partner organisations are Imperial College’s Reach Out Lab, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the Field Studies Council (FSC). The three research topics will be finalized with the successful applicants but they will be in the following areas:

The impact of the Reach Out Lab on school science students;

The impact of public engagement at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew; and,

The impact of fieldwork carried out by school students.

The studentships will be for three years with a possible extension for a fourth year. The starting stipend will be £20,000 (per annum) and home/EU tuition fees. There will also be support for travel and conferences. Successful applicants will spend a considerable time during their research at the Reach Out Lab, RBG, Kew or FSC London East.

All three students will be supervised by Professor Justin Dillon and a colleague from King’s as well as a representative from each of the three partners: Professor Robert Winston (IC); Professor Angela McFarlane (RBG, Kew) and Dr Steven Tilling (FSC).
