We are looking for volunteers to serve as Strand Chairs for the next ESERA conference. Strand Chairs play a central role in ensuring the quality of the conference. Working closely with the Local Scientific Committee, Strand Chairs help manage the review process for their strand and take part in compiling, selecting, and publishing the e-proceedings — for which they will be recognized as official Co-editors.

Specifically, Strand Chairs are expected to:

Before the conference:

• Confirm that submissions have been assigned to the correct strand, or propose reassignment where appropriate,
• Manage the review process within their strand,
• Organize the strand’s paper sessions and contribute to the overall scientific programme.

After the conference:

• Review submissions for the e-proceedings, write the strand’s introduction, and take on the role of Co-editor for that chapter,
• Help select presentations to be invited for the printed Book of Selected Papers (note: attending the conference is important for this step, as selection draws on the conference presentations themselves)

Strand Chairs remain involved throughout the full process — from abstract submission through to the finalization of the e-proceedings. Strand Chair appointment is for two years, from October 2026, until September 2028.
