The next ESERA Doctoral Summer School will be hosted by the Maths & Science Education Research Centre at the Southampton Education School, University of Southampton from 21st until 25th June 2027.
The Summer School will take place at the University of Southampton, bringing together doctoral researchers and mentors from across the international ESERA community for a week of scholarly dialogue, mentoring, collaboration, and professional development. 49 doctoral researchers in science education will take part in enriching sessions, work in small groups with 14 mentors, presenting current developments in their doctoral research, discussing next steps, opportunities and challenges and engaging in professional dialogue around researching science education across contexts, methodologies and disciplinary themes.
All Summer School sessions will take place at Highfield Campus, which is the central campus of the University of Southampton. Highfield Campus benefits from extensive green spaces, and modern teaching and learning facilities. As the main campus of the University of Southampton, it is well connected through public transport to the city centre where accommodation will be provided for summer school participants.
The city of Southampton is located in the south-east of England, and is approximately 1.5 hours away from London by train. It is easily accessible via major airport hubs such as Heathrow and Gatwick, and the Eurostar train service from Europe into London.
