The next ESERA Summer School will take place in Luxembourg, hosted by the University of Luxembourg, Campus Esch-Belval, from June 30 until July 3, 2026. It is organised by the SciTeach Center team, located at the University of Luxembourg. The SciTeach Center is a resource space for teachers that promotes science education at primary school levels in Luxembourg.

The ESERA Summer School offers a number of possibilities for doctoral students to meet and discuss research in small supportive groups and with mentors, in addition to workshops provided by science education researchers at different career stages. 49 students will be selected, based on a review of their proposals and considering a diversity of countries and fields of interest in science education, and 14 mentors will be selected, based on selection criteria.
The ESERA Summer School will open Monday June 29th with an opening dinner and end with a closing ceremony scheduled for Friday July 3rd. Travel to and from the Summer School has to be scheduled on Monday (June 29th) and Saturday (July 4th) respectively and participants will attend four full days of the Summer School.
Luxembourg is located in the center of Europe, bordering Belgium, France and Germany. It is easily accessible by trains, ensuring a sustainable and environment-aware way of travelling. In case a flight is necessary, Luxembourg has an international airport (Findel) with direct flights from across Europe.
Campus Esch-Belval is the University of Luxembourg’s main site. Close to Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg’s second largest city, itt combines research with teaching and urban life with leisure activities. Once home to Luxembourg’s largest steelworks, this site now features research and learning facilities, the University Library and Learning Centre as well as student accommodation.
