ESERA Launches “Conflict Zone Fund” to Support Early Career Academics

ESERA is inaugurating a fund of up to €2000.00 per individual, with a total budget of €10,000 dedicated to support early career academics from conflict zones to visit institutions in other parts of the world and to support their career development at a time of instability in their national context. 

While this annual fund will be open to all, there will be priority given to the Ukraine-Russia conflict in the 2022 fund allocation. This is an open call with a rolling deadline and will be considered on a need basis throughout the year.

Eligibility

Completed doctoral studies at least 4 years ago (2018 latest);In employment for a maximum of 8 years following the award of PhD;Employed in a university in a conflict zone in any part of the world.

Application

500-word research plan, context and personal statement;The host researcher and institution’s approval of the visit;Budget outline for how the funds will be used.
