FIsme Summer School 2011: Science and Mathematics Education

During the last decades the Netherlands have been at the forefront of innovation in science and mathematics education. Currently Dutch curriculum development projects are in progress for mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry and advanced integrated science and mathematics.

This Summer School will provide secondary science and mathematics teachers and educators, curriculum developers and researchers with a blend of lectures, seminars and other activities on curriculum development and related research. The programme will be tailored to the interests of both mathematics and science education. The course is organised by the Freudenthal Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (FIsme), Faculty of Science, University of Utrecht.

The course is meant for secondary science and mathematics teachers and educators; curriculum developers and researchers with proficiency in English. For mathematics, there are also possibilities for primary teachers and educators.

COPENHAGEN 2025

Established in 1995, ESERA aims to enhance scientific
literacy for all through research in science education.

Various professional activities support community building in science education, dissemination of
research findings and professional development of researchers from different career stages.
