Nominations for ESERA Executive Board

At the ESERA Conference 2019 the term of service of the following members of the ESERA Executive Board comes to an end: Costas Constantinou (President), Gjalt Prins (Treasurer), Sibel Erduran (Member responsible for collaboration with other organizations, research collaborations and science education policy), Mariona Espinet (Member responsible for Early Career researchers) and Robert Evans (Member responsible for Conferences and Summer Schools).

The nomination procedure is now open. Candidates for the ESERA Executive Board are asked to provide up to 250 words in support of their candidature and a photograph.

Please note that all nominations must be supported by a proposer and a seconder who are both members of ESERA and who have their main professional affiliation in European countries. The proposer, the seconder and the candidate cannot have their main professional affiliation in the same country. Nominations should be addressed to the ESERA President, Costas Constantinou and sent via email to esera.org@gmail.com Deadline for nominations: May 10, 2019. After that date, the nominations will be displayed on the ESERA website, and ESERA members will be invited to elect the new Executive through a secure electronic voting system between June 20 and August 28, 2019.

At the first meeting of the new Executive Board, which will be held immediately after the ESERA 2019 Conference, (a) the new President will take over their responsibilities, including the day-to-day management of the association, in close collaboration with the Secretary;(b) the Treasurer will take responsibility for the membership and financial management, and (c) the other newly elected members will participate fully in the active decision making of the Executive Board and will also decide on the distribution of the portfolios on Early Career Researchers, Collaborations and Science Education Policy and Conferences and Summer Schools. All portfolios involve the responsibility to take initiative to support and further develop the ESERA community but also to prepare and present a brief report at each 6-monthly meeting of the ESERA Executive Board.

literacy for all through research in science education.

Various professional activities support community building in science education, dissemination of
research findings and professional development of researchers from different career stages.
