It is with great sadness that I tell you that Sandi Abell passed away last night. As many of you know, she fought a courageous battle against cancer. She died at home surrounded by her loving family. Please keep Mark, Luke and their extended family in your thoughts and prayers. Sandi will be greatly missed.
A few of her many contributions to NARST and the science education community included serving as NARST President (2001), being Co-Editor of the Handbook of Research on Science Education, and being the organizer of the first NARST Summer Research Institute (SRI). The SRI was very dear to Sandi’s heart as she was committed to mentoring new researchers.
