Call for an Editorial Board for the ESERA Book Series

We are pleased to invite ESERA members to apply for a position on the Editorial Board which consists of 2 Series Editors (paid) and 6 Board Members (non-paid), one of which is an ESERA Board member.

We are currently looking for 1 Series Editor for the book series and 5 members, with a term of service of 4 years, starting in August 2025.

The current series editor is Prof. Dr. Manuela Welzel-Breuer and the ESERA Member of the Editorial Board is Prof. Maria Evagorou.

Responsibilities:

  •     Series Editors
  • Actively Promote the book series
  • Lead communication within the Editorial Board
  • Serve as the main contact between the Editorial Board, the ESERA Board, and Springer
  • Oversee the review and selection of book proposals
  • Ensure the quality of publications
  • Report on activities at ESERA conferences

 

  • Board Members
  • Review book proposals and accompany book projects from submission to publication
  • Provide feedback and guidance to authors
  • Communicate regularly with the Series Editors

The Selection Criteria for series editors include extensive experience in publishing, editing, and mentoring and for the Editorial Board Members: Recognised expertise in science education research, experience in publishing, editing, and mentoring, research focus aligned with ESERA strands, commitment to reviewing and supporting book projects, active engagement in the international science education community.

If you are interested in serving as a series editor or a member of the ESERA Editorial Board, prepare a CV highlighting relevant editorial and publishing experience and a 1-page long letter outlining your vision for the book series and related experience and email it to prof. Lucy Avraamidou at <president@esera.org> before June 1, 2025.
