Call for nominations: ESERA Doctoral Student Executive Board member  

ESERA is calling for nominations for a doctoral student Executive Board member following a voting process to amend the ESERA Constitution about the Board membership. A significant majority has voted in favour of the inclusion of a doctoral student member on the Executive Board. Further details about membership are specified in the ESERA Constitution which is available on the website (https://www.esera.org/about/constitution-of-esera).

Candidates for the ESERA Student Executive Board position are asked to provide up to 250 words in support of their candidature and a photograph.

Please note that all nominations must be supported by a proposer and a seconder who are both members of ESERA and who have their main professional affiliation in European countries. The proposer, the seconder and the candidate cannot have their main professional affiliation in the same country. Nominations should be addressed to the ESERA president, Sibel Erduran (e-mail: esera.org@gmail.com). Deadline for nominations: November 27, 2021. After that date, the nominations will be displayed on the ESERA website, and ESERA members will be invited to elect  the student member through a secure electronic voting system. The deadline for voting is December 30, 2021 and the starting date is January 8, 2022.

In addition to what applies to all Executive Boards positions, the following apply:

The student member of the Board has the right to one vote in any decision related to the Executive Board business; At the time of the nomination, the nominee is a full-time PhD student enrolled in a university in Europe; The duration of the appointment is 2 years starting in January (even years) and the student members does not necessarily have to be a PhD student throughout the duration of the appointment.

Various professional activities support community building in science education, dissemination of
research findings and professional development of researchers from different career stages.
