THE ROLE OF VISUALITY IN SCIENCE EDUCATION
September 20th 2024
Elisabethstrasse 41, Graz, University of Graz, Austria
In this special event, we focus on the nature of visuality in science education research, with a specific focus on the role of video. We invite contributions that explore/present methodologies for the study of visuality and the use of visuals. Research into video research on social actors and the objectivations they (re)produce could be an interesting angle and explorations on how to combine the role of videography and focused ethnography in science education research. Contributors are invited to illustrate the vital role of visuality of new practices in the reconstruction of (scientific) reality through research, including audiovisual methods for qualitative empirical research.
