2024_8_23 Latest Updates and Invitations from SIG 4

Dear members of SIG 4

We hope this message finds you well.

We’re writing to share some important updates and opportunities to get involved in our SIG 4 activities. Your input and participation are highly valued, so we encourage you to read through the points below and respond where you can.

  1. Your Suggestions for Keynote Speakers at ESERA 2025: The ESERA board is looking for your suggestions for keynote speakers at the upcoming ESERA conference in 2025. If you have someone in mind who would make an excellent keynote speaker, please let us know by emailing us at albert.zeyer@gmail.com before September 15.
  2. Progress on the Book Project: We’re pleased to let you know that our Springer book project, titled “Transfer Perspectives in Science | Environment | Health Education,” is moving forward nicely, thanks to the many high-quality submissions we’ve received. Our next step is to hold a Zoom meeting to discuss the book’s content and overall concept. We also want to highlight that the themes from this book will be featured in a planned invited symposium and possibly in SIG 4 satellite symposia at the next ESERA conference in 2025. We’ll provide more information on this as the conference approaches. As we discussed at the Valencia conference, this book project is a collaborative SIG 4 effort, and we’d love to see as many of you as possible involved in these discussions. If you’re interested in joining any of these sessions, please drop us a quick email at albert.zeyer@gmail.com. Your participation would be greatly appreciated. The Zoom meetings are scheduled for the following dates:
  • 19.09.2024, 5-6 PM GMT+2
  • 24.09.2024, 3-4 PM GMT+2
  • 01.10.2024, 10:30-11:30 AM GMT+2
  1. Save the Date: Upcoming SIG 4 Mini Conference: We’re excited to announce that Claes Malmberg, Anders Urbas, and Mikael Thelin will be hosting our next SIG 4 mini conference in 2026 at Halmstad University in Sweden. We’re very grateful to them for taking on this responsibility. We’re proposing to hold the conference from 20.08.2026 to 22.08.2026. Before we finalize these dates, we’d like to ask you to check your calendars and let us know if these dates conflict with any other major events or conferences you’re aware of.
  2. New ESERA SIG 4 Website: We now have a dedicated website for SIG 4, thanks to ESERA. You will find it through the link: https://www.esera.org/esera-special-interest-groups/esera-sig-4-science-environment-health/. Step by step, we are learning how to manage and maintain the website and are gradually publishing relevant SIG content on it. If you have any ideas or suggestions on how we can improve the website or the kind of content you’d like to see, we would highly welcome your input. If you have anything you’d like to share, please send it our way at any time at albert.zeyer@gmail.com, and we’ll make sure it gets posted. We’re committed to keeping the website as up-to-date as possible, and your contributions are key to making that happen.

Thank you all for your continued support and engagement. We’re looking forward to hearing from you and hopefully seeing many of you at our upcoming events.

Best regards,

Albert Zeyer
